White Thunder Works Three Eighths At Finger Lakes

White Thunder's first workout of 2011 could not have gone any better, as he covered the three eighths of a mile in 37 1/5 seconds this morning at Finger Lakes Racetrack. The workout was the seventh fastest out of twenty one at the distance.

With a 160 lb. exercise rider on his back, White Thunder galloped out an additional eighth of a mile after the finish line, stopping the clock in 52 seconds. His rider stated that if he had dropped Thunder's head during any portion of the workout, he would have worked the three eighths in 35 seconds and change. He switched leads perfectly and handled the racing surface without issue.

Jared Schoeneman reported that Thunder cooled out perfectly and that it was a "dynamite work" and that he was "very pleased and very excited". He also stated that Thunder did not drink any water after the workout and was hardly blowing thru his nostrils when he came off the track, a true sign of just how fit he is at this point in time.

Mr. Schoeneman hopes that Thunder will be able to come right back next Wednesday and work another three eighths of a mile, this time with company.
