Scat Daddy Colt Sells for $250,000 - Prime Equine Broodmare Bred to Promising, Young Stallion
Barre, Massachusetts - April 12, 2011 - Foals from Scat Daddy's first crop continued to catch the eyes of buyers this afternoon as a colt out of the mare Bourbon Ball brought $250,000 at yesterday evening's two year old in training sale at Keeneland. Other foals have previously brought $400,000, $220,000, $175,000, and $125,000 at previous 2011 auctions. Prime Equine's broodmare, Weatheringthestorm, is currently in Kentucky at Ashford Stud and was bred to this promising, young stallion on March 30th. Weatheringthestorm was selected into the Mare Link program, which provides free shipping to and from Kentucky, free board, and free basic veterinary care. A son of world champion Johannesburg, Scat Daddy is a multiple grade one winner, victorious in the Champagne Stakes at the age of two and the Florida Derby at the age of three. An injury while running in the Kentucky Derby, a race in which he was the third betting favorite, ended his career. We are offering Weatheringthestorm as a breed to sell partnership based on Scat Daddy's strong auction numbers and Weatheringthestorm's excellent pedigree. There is still time for those of you who are interested to become involved. Please contact me if you would like more information. Thank you, Renee Doyle
